Stefan Mayer, husband of Marie Paula Campion was fined  $6,000.00, in the Parramatta Criminal Court on 29 January 2013 and his company Bespoke Installations Pty Ltd ABN 25103540978 was fined $1,300.00 it has been advised.

These fines do not appear to be very severe considering that Stefan Mayer has scammed hundreds of thousands of dollars from customers and suppliers for very many years operating through a series of phoenix companies. His most recent company Scullery and Holz Interiors Pty Ltd was liquidated on the application of a customer scammed for some $50,000.00 and it had debts  in excess of $800,000.00 with virtually no assets.

That scammed customer had previously lodged a complaint with the Consumer, Trader and Tenancy Tribunal (CTTT). The CTTT had ordered Stefan Mayer to refund the $50,000.00 but Stefan Mayer did not abide by that order. There have been many CTTT orders for Stefan Mayer to refund money to scammed customers which Stefan Mayer just ignores, knowing that he can get away with it. The CTTT makes the orders and then it is up to the victims of Stefan Mayer's scams to have the orders enforced, by either going to the Sheriff or by taking Stefan Mayer to Court. A pity that the State Government allows crooks like Stefan Mayer to ignore the orders of the CTTT. The CTTT is a government body and its orders should be enforced by the State. Any order not adhered to should become a criminal offence and the offenders pursued by the State.

Is it any wonder that people like Stefan Mayer are willing to operate these sorts of scams, knowing that they are able to swindle hundreds of thousands of dollars from unsuspecting customers and suppliers, and then just get what appears to be a slap across their wrists with such paltry fines? If scammed customers and scammed suppliers were asked what sentences they thought would act as deterrents- most would state

substantial,  financially crippling fines plus lengthy jail sentences ought to be imposed by the Courts.


It has also been advised that the Department of NSW Fair Trading will make a public announcement regarding the outcome of their proceedings against Stefan Mayer and his company Bespoke Installations Pty Ltd very soon.

Interestingly, the Department of NSW Fair Trading fined Adam Kovac of A.J.K.Constructions Pty Ltd (Stefan Mayer's sub-contractor/installer) a similar amount for operating while unlicensed.



The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (A.S.I.C.) has also failed to take this crook to task. It still allows Stefan Mayer to be a director of Bespoke Installations Pty Ltd (this being the current company Stefan Mayer uses to scam people by taking large deposits for kitchens and cabinetry which he has no intention of supplying). If the A.S.I.C. had acted upon the recommendations of a liquidator of an earlier phoenix company of Stefan Mayer's some years ago his more recent scams could have been prevented. The $800,000 financial loss by customers and suppliers of his failed Scullery and Holz Interiors Pty Ltd may never have occurred. And, what price can be placed on the trauma, anxiety and stress suffered by the scammed and defrauded who were without kitchens, bathrooms, and the use of these facilities sometimes for months on end? Also, what price can be placed on the cash flow difficulties suffered by Stefan Mayer's suppliers because he did not pay them what they were owed. Further, what price can be placed on the suffering Stefan Mayer caused to his employee who was dismissed suddenly and then found that Stefan Mayer had never paid any superannuation contributions as required by law.

Scammed By Stefan Mayer - Fraudster- Con Artist

SCAMMED BY FRAUDSTER STEFAN MAYER

Fraudster Stefan Mayer was ordered by the CTTT, on 1st March 2012, to refund $8,000.00 to a customer he had scammed through Bespoke Installations Pty Ltd. Payment to be made in full by the 15th March.

Fraudster Stefan Mayer was due to appear in Parramatta Local Court on 2 March 2012 for offences under the Home Building Act 1989 and the Business names Act 2002 as charged by the Department of NSW Fair Trading.

Another claim for $19,000.00 against fraudster Stefan Mayer of Bespoke Installations Pty Ltd will be determined by the CTTT on 15 March 2012. This hearing will also be attended by the customer who is to be paid the $8,000.00 by that date.

A further CTTT hearing against fraudster Stefan Mayer and Scullery & Holz Interiors Pty Ltd for $13,000 was scheduled for 26 March 2012. This matter will now probably not proceed as the company was placed into liquidation on 16 December 2011.

Our combined efforts are beginning to have the desired effects.

The Department of Fair Trading has been informed that Stefan Mayer's home at 10 St Andrews Drive, Pymble is for sale and that there is a good possibility that he may be planning to abscond to Bali where he has a property. It was suggested that they may consider slapping a Caveat on the property.
The Australian Taxation Department have also been asked to investigate all the companies operated by Stefan Mayer as it was likely that Income Tax Returns and Business Activity Statements together with the appropriate GST may not have been lodged for many years.

Stefan Mayer has not paid the required superannuation contributions for at least one of his long term employees . The amount of contributions being in the order of $50,000.00 - what a terrible loss for that employee. In addition he failed to pay that employee the last six weeks wages in December 2011. This is the man who states, .... "I have done nothing wrong apart from run a business and I promise you all I will complete all the outstanding works.my company is my baby." Be Aware - Hoax - Scullery & Holz Interiors Pty Ltd

The hearing at CTTT on 15th December 2010 was attended with Stefan Mayer arriving twelve minutes late (again). On our way to the hearing, we had a call from another unhappy customer of Scullery & Holz, stating that the company was now on the "insolvency list". This was mentioned to the Member at the CTTT. When Stefan Mayer was asked if that was the case he stated that it could well be from Friday 16th December 2011.
We presented our claim in the format required by the CTTT on a Scott Schedule ( down loaded from the http://www.cttt.nsw.gov.au/pdfs/Dispute_resolution/Forms/scottsschedule1.pdf).

The respondents to our claim now have until 19th January 2012 to respond. A.J.K Constructions Pty Ltd is the other respondent. This company is also not licensed to do building or electrical work. A.J.K Constructions Pty Ltd failed to provide Home Warranty Insurance and a Certificate of Compliance for the electrical work done in our kitchen.

My understanding of the law is that if a director of a company continues to trade while the company is insolvent then personal assets of the director can be accessed to pay the creditors of the company.

It could be in the interests of all you unhappy customers of Scullery & Holz Interiors Pty Ltd to join together and perhaps make a Class Action Claim against them. Additionally if you all lodge complaints with the ASIC stating that you believe the Company was operating while insolvent, then the ASIC could well investigate them. We have already lodged such a complaint with the ASIC. Their response was that at this stage they would do nothing. However if four or more of you lodge similar complaints then ASIC may take notice.

We are told by another unhappy customer of Scullery & Holz that they have paid $27,000.00 so far with nothing to show for it. Stefan Mayer has a knack of winning the sympathy of his customers and wheedling large sums of money from them with very convincing stories of hardship. He is expert in persuasion by flattery and guile. Beware of his promises and do not believe a word he says. What a terrible way to run a business! His father Tom is also expert in procrastination and giving misleading information regarding the progress of the work being carried out.

As expected Stefan Mayer did not attend the CTTT this morning. His representative asked for a further three weeks. This was granted with the warning that no further excuses will be tolerated. Stefan Mayer must provide the information upon which he bases his case at the end of three weeks. We stated that this was just another delaying tactic and that Stefan Mayer just goes around taking deposits and then doing nothing. We showed the Member (the CTTT officer) the list of ten people complaining about Scullery & Holz at:

We have had multiple problems with Scullery & Holz Interiors Pty Ltd

We were without a kitchen from 18th September 2010 until 24th February 2011. This has been a most traumatic and costly experience with Scullery & Holz Interiors Pty Ltd - an absolute nightmare.
Beware of Scullery & Holz Interiors Pty Ltd and especially Stefan Mayer who is most obliging and attentive until a contract is signed and the substantial deposit is paid. From that point onwards dealing with Scullery & Holz becomes a nightmare.

Scullery & Holz Interiors Pty Ltd is a business that is incapable of fulfilling it's contractual obligations - most certainly this has been our exasperating experience with them.

Scullery & Holz are most attentive until the contract is signed and a substantial deposit taken ( they are not supposed to take more than 5% of the contract price at the time the contract is signed and they are supposed to provide the Home Warranty Insurance cover at that time). Once they get your money they are virtually impossible to contact, and neglect to get anything done. Phone calls, when answered, are not much use. Many promises will be made, and then when these are not kept, excuses will be made followed by further assurances which are also not honoured. These are delaying tactics used by the company.
When we decided to replace our kitchen early in 2010 we looked at quite a few showrooms and finally were trying to decide between two companies on our short list:
Scullery and Holz Interiors Pty Ltd in Willoughby and

Mobalpa Kitchens in Drummoyne.
Stefan Mayer, the owner of Scullery & Holz Interiors Pty Ltd was most attentive to all our enquiries and promptly provided us with a complete set of drawings for the proposed kitchen. Our telephone calls were answered instantly and upon making changes to the plans Stefan Mayer immediately produced new sets of drawings ( on four occasions).
Sadly, this early attention to our calls and enquiries prompted us to sign a contract with Stefan Mayer of Scullery & Holz Interiors Pty Ltd.
Our experience with this company has been a nightmare. We were without a kitchen for eight months. They abandoned the job after having failed to complete it by the fourth promised finish date. Now sixteen months since signing the contract with them, we are still waiting for Scullery & Holz Interiors Pty Ltd to refund us the $13,296.47 we paid in excess of the contracted price to have our kitchen finished and all their errors corrected by another contractor.

We signed a contract with Stefan Mayer of Scullery and Holz Interiors Pty Ltd on 30 June 2010 for a kitchen with a contracted price of $41,780.00 scheduled to start at end August 2010 and promised for completion within eight weeks. This company took a deposit of $11,000.00 and then failed to perform. Once the deposit was paid, Stefan Mayer was virtually impossible to contact.

Scullery and Holz:

failed to provide us with Home Warranty Insurance,
failed to engage only licensed contractors and
failed to start the job at the end of August 2010
failed to keep their promise to complete the kitchen on four separate occasions:
26th October 2010;
20th November 2010;
20th December 2010 and
24th January 2011
failed to order the cabinetry until mid November 2010 (20 weeks after taking the deposit
failed to pay the cabinet maker- prior to expecting them to allow for pickup.
We got delivery of the cabinetry on 7th December 2010 by going to Lovely Kitchens ourselves and paying Scullery & Holz in advance at the factory. There were numerous design faults that Scullery & Holz were unable to fix themselves. One week after delivery of the cabinetry they commenced installation. Their installer then walked off the job on the 18th December. On 20th December they promised to finish the kitchen by 24th January 2011. Scullery & Holz closed for the Christmas holidays on 23th December 2010 sending us an e-mail instructing us to immediately pay the balance of the contract price to their bench top supplier before they would start our bench tops.
Had we done this we would have paid the full amount of the contract price to Scullery & Holz. We would have had a kitchen that was not even correctly installed, with cabinetry and fittings in disarray and that were not according to our requirements, without bench tops, without appliances installed and connected and cabinetry unpainted. In the end they virtually abandoned the job and it was then finished by Lovely Kitchens costing us an additional $13,296.47 over and above the contract price. Scullery and Holz failed to keep their promise to reimburse us for any amounts we paid Lovely Kitchens to finish the job they could not complete themselves.
