clive1933 - I sympathise with your plight as the same is happening to me currently. Could you tell me whether you got any sense out of Fair Trading NSW or did you make an application directly to the Consumer, Trading and Tenancy Tribunal?

pete72 - i am also having problems. I have taken the matter to Office of Fair trading. S&H did not respond so the matter has been passed on to the Consumer, Trading and Tenancy Tribunal. It is obvious to me the guy is broke. I am taking it as far as i can so that i make sure no one else is placed in the same position and loses a substantial deposit. I would not be so harsh if Stefan Mayer had the decency to actually talk to me.

Hi Pete72,
Following my inquiry the Dept of Fair Trading had a meeting with Stefan Mayer of Scullery Holz. As I understand they instructed him and his company to desist from engaging unlicensed persons to do their work.
Scullery & Holz Interiors are not licensed to install kitchens and are unable to provide Home Warranty Insurance.
Mr Allan Carter (Building Investigations - Mob:0423 840 502) of the Dept of Fair Trade advised me to lodge a claim with the Consumer Trader and Tenancy Tribunal (CTTT) and gave me a letter which I was asked to attach to my claim when it was lodged with the CTTT. This has been done.
We have had one hearing with the CTTT at which Stefan Mayer requested time for him to prepare his case. The next hearing is scheduled for 28th November 2011.
We had lodged our claim in August. In it we claimed for loss of amenity, stress and and other incidentals, besides the actual amounts we paid to Lovely Kitchens to finish the job.
At the first hearing we were told that the CTTT could not adjudicate on other than the actual amounts paid out to have the job finished correctly.
If some more customers of Scullery & Holz take their complaints to the CTTT perhaps these unscrupulous operators will be heavily fined and put out of business.

Yes we also are victims of Stephan. He is now in liquidation and has run off with the cash we paid up front. Yes very silly I know however we had dealt with him at Country Form Kitchens and were pleased with the service at that time 10 years earlier.
I am sure he and his family will have a lovely Christmas unlike mine who are working out of boxes in our kitchen at the moment. He has destroyed my faith in human nature for the moment. Oh well will join the creditors line! Merry Christmas Stephan and family.
